famous real places

We were watching Sienfeld Chronicles tonight and it reminded me of our first family vacation to New York.

We went to Monks, the restaurant they always went to. We have a picture of us in front of the "restaurant" sign they always showed.

On my girls trip to New York (Marilee, Deanna & I) we visited the real "soup nazi" It was hilarious. He really does yell at people, in fact, he was yelling at the customer in front of us, it rattled Marilee so much, she ordered, gave him the money and stepped to the side so fast she forgot her change! Now, I'm a soup girl, I love it, all kinds, bisque, chowder, gumbo, etc. The soup was off the hook. I had crab bisque, it was awesome.

We've also been to Serendipity (In NY). Yes, the real ice cream shoppe they went to in the movie Serendipity. We went there long before the movie. Every now and then I get the biggest craving for the forbidden broadway sundae ..... mmmmm, so good, and frozen hot chocolate. You have to taste it to get it.

It's a funny thing I like to do on vacation, find places that we can actually visit from movies. The movie hummer tour in Oahu was awesome. They filmed a small part of Jurassic Park, 50 First Dates, Windtalkers, Tears of the Sun, Mighty Joe Young and some other ones. Now when I watch 50 first, I see all the places we saw.

Next time you are going on vacation, go to IMDB and look for your destination to see the movies that have been made there.

On a side note, I am trying to figure out what to do with that stupid boat! I need some kind of heavy truck to pull it, which is keeping me tied tight to that gas sucking Tahoe. I want to cut the strings and get into my lighter Mini!!!! I have the new car fever .... bad!
